On March 13, NewJeans‘ fan alliance “Bunnies” announced that they had submitted a petition signed by approximately 30,000 domestic and international fans to the Civil Agreement Division 50 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Kim Sang-hoon). The petition was reportedly compiled with fan signatures collected since February 24.

In the petition, Bunnies claimed, “HYBE and Chairman Bang Si-hyuk have deliberately discriminated against the NewJeans members, forcing them to work in a hostile environment.” They further asserted, “Given the slim chances of this situation improving, keeping the NJZ (NewJeans) members tied to the agency is excessively harsh.” The fandom made clear its support for the members’ independent activities.

Fans expressed their concerns, “If the members are forced to continue their exclusive activities in an environment where trust has already been broken, it will cause immense suffering to them and negatively impact the fans as well. We will no longer be able to enjoy NewJeans’ music and activities with joy.The petition urged the court to dismiss ADOR’s injunction request.

Previously, ADOR filed an injunction with the court seeking “preservation of the agency’s status and a ban on signing advertising contracts” after the NewJeans members notified the company of their contract termination and began independent activities.

The court is set to conclude its review after receiving additional materials by March 14.

Meanwhile, there were reports that some fans had encouraged petition submissions by holding giveaway events. However, Bunnies clarified through their official channels, “The events are unrelated to the fan alliance.”
